The barrel nut was pretty tight but it didn't feel over-torqued like many PSA uppers I've taken apart. Maybe on the high end of spec around 50/60 lbs. The front face of the receiver did look a little rough. There were some chips in the finish around the inside on the front edge and the last 2 or 3 lines of threads were very rough to the touch. The face didn't feel rough to the touch, but while lapping it with my Wheeler tool it did appear to be wearing uneven when I spot checked my progress. I applied some red loctite ro the barrel extension and reinstalled it. I also applied some to the gas block to bed it as well.
So hopefully later today I can get a chance to shoot it and see if there is any improvement. I'm also going to leave the muzzle bare for now as well as per earlier suggestions. I ordered some shims that will be here later next week.

Well if it don't shoot you can be sure it's the barrel is junk.
