So my brass gets the case neck flattened on one side, assume ably by it hitting the deflector. Is this normal. You can see the gouges caused by the necks of the cases hitting.

Perfectly normal. The easy and permanent solution is to take the adhesive backed fuzzy half of a velcro strip and stick it on your degreased brass deflector.

You can try tuning it with an adjustable gas block, but the velcro fix is a whole lot less involved and will never have a screw back out or require retuning for a different load.
