This is what I think Stans problem is and what people are so tired of here.
I'd hate to see Stan disappear altogether. He does bring a wealth of experience. When he is acting in the former he's an asset to the discussion. The problem is he to often falls into the latter category.
Enough is enough.
I'd suggest we let this thread serve as a warning to anyone who only wants to force their opinions onto other, not contributing to the betterment of the discussion. If they continue to act in the same manner beyond this point, they should be banned from the 2A sub forum.

I have read most of Stan's arguments and they are well thought out, well worded, and well supported. I have never read a word from him in any forum where he was trying to 'force' his views on anyone.
I did ask him to stop posting to a specific 2A thread for some reason and he did so without any snide remarks. Very uncommon.
I don't buy the 'betterment of the discussion' notion because that argument is normally used by those who do not want to hear a differing opinion or support their argument in a debate.
He is bringing a solid legal and historical perspective to the discussions, at least initially. They soon degenerate into inane and stupid 'who said what' arguments and arguments over the definition of simple words. Why? Because every 2A thread ends up in a stalemate where both sides repeat the same basic arguments until something has to give.
I agree with LRRP52. The Grendel forum is primarily a technical one involving the cartridge, firearms, and the use of them.
