This is a nitrided barrel.
I don't like the idea of any oil in the chamber for a shooting gun.
For storage, there's an argument for keeping a Chromoly steel barrel and maybe even stainless cared for with a very light final pass with a barely-oiled patch in the bore, but I would want it dry-patched before shooting.
These are just my thoughts on it. I'm not a chemist or metallurgist, but I do know that oil in the chamber is bad ju-ju when you push the PSI that we're pushing from within a brass, high pressure gasket that goes from ambient temp to explosively-hot temps inside that gasket, with brass being very conductive.
