Have you considered something like a 458 SOCOM? It performs exceptionally well out of short barrels with a tremendous amount of stopping power. Fits standard AR mags, and you will absolutely be getting the most punch out of 10 rounds short of a 12 gauge shotgun (albeit an AR is far more ergonomic, shorter, and handier than a 12 gauge).
