I extract with palm side up, giving a good firm pull, but not a jerk, all the way back, and release. Never a struggle for me to extract in that manner.

I put my side charging upper on my 458 Socom since the port is large enough to clear the 458 case.
The port on a standard, milspec rear charging upper is not large enough for the 458 case to fit through, making extraction difficult.Wink
I have an ambi charging upper as well to which I may move my new 7.62x39 barrel if extraction seems easy with the standard upper.
