I think people in the gun community need to change their own prejudices and negative thinking before they try to change others. The 2nd Amendment is still considered valuable by the majority if opinion polls are to be believed. They always drop after a major shooting but they seem to spring back after the hard core left tries to reach too far. It may sound a little silly at first but StoneHendge was correct when he stated:

I think there is a little rebel in all of us, especially the youth. Every person wants to empower themselves in someway and the shooting sports is a lot more attractive in my way of thinking than the negative, never ending victims club of the anti's.
I have gone to other club matches and the Alpha male syndrome was epidemic. I watched many new comers being run off in disgust by these yahoos when they were treated like preschoolers. I have listened to trap and skeet shooters berating multi gunners who shoot AR-15 type rifles, multi gunners belittling cowboy action shooters with their Halloween outfits and so on. We in the gun community need to police our selves better. Bad attitudes leave bad memories which leads to fewer shooters. When confronting anti gunners, try to be a friend when debating with them. No one will listen to an enemy. As Ben Franklin stated: We must, indeed, all hang together or, most assuredly, we shall all hang separately.
