AK Guy. You really don't want to be using the Mag as a rest when shooting for tight groups or just about any other reason outside of Hollywood gangsta. Anything from a small diameter rolled up sleeping bag or a day pack with a jacket or sweater or two inside can work also. If the Army knows anything they teach you to put a hand between the rifle and what ever you are resting it on as well to deaden the bounce off the rest. If you get back out on a decent day with a decent rest please let us know how the rifle shoots. Obviously you can put well aimed shots down range or the creadmore would group like rat shit in a dresser drawer
