Students see a bit of a backfire from their school shooting protests, not the outcome they were promised by those encouraging them to speak out.
1. Students must wear ID badges at all times.
2. Students must use clear see-through backpacks that show the contents to all at all times. All other backpacks are now banned.
Some students have said theyre not happy with the changes.
Tyra Hemans, 19, a senior, told CNN she supports parts of the new policy, such as the ID requirement. But she believes other security measures, such as forcing students to carry clear backpacks, dont adequately address the real problem with school safety, which she says is lax gun laws.
Im not happy with it. Why are you punishing me for one persons actions? she said.
