My Grendel ran with a standard gas block, standard weight carbine and rifle buffers and standard rate springs. I purchased a JP Silent Capture Spring to use in my 6.5 Creedmoor. Between it and the adjustable gas block, issues tuned right out of it (the Creedmoor).
The SCS worked so well and was smooth and so quiet, I bought another for my Grendel. It's standard weight has worked perfectly. I also got another for my 6mm Creedmoor. It was the heavy version with two tungsten weights (equivalent of an H2). I swapped a stainless weight for one tungsten on the one in my 6.5 making both the one in the 6.5mm & 6mm the equivalent of H buffers. Has worked really well.
The configurability of the JP SCS is great. My first came with additional springs at different rates. It's a nice and well thought out product. The sproing noise is gone. Cant wait till I get my can and see just how quiet it is. The spring noise never really bothered me, but it disappearing after hearing it for so long really made me notice the difference.
Never thought I'd be spending some money on buffers and springs, but the SCS has been worth the extra money in my book. I keep a couple buffers and springs from other stocks on hand just incase I need spare repair parts, but no issues with my SCS 's and no plans for the others just to be in a box. If possible, try shooting a rifle with one. I'm sure you'd like it. I let a lot of people shoot my rifles, they usually like the setup and operation.

Every cloud has a silver lining (except for the mushroom shaped onesÂ… which have a lining of Iridium and Strontium 90)
