A better way to tame the eject at this point is to use an adjustable gas block. Or you can put some fuzzy velcro on the deflector's angle surface. Or a heavier buffer. Taking another coil might be a coil too far, so to speak.
As for resizing, hitting the deflector etc won't be a problem. I do make a mental note of the ones with the flat spot on the edge and just raise the case a bit more slowly but there's never been a problem with mine. I've had a few "bad" case dings too. Brass is malleable.
I'm not a total expert on ejection angle but the consensus here seems to be to go for 3-4 o'clock. 1:00 may be a bit under. Maybe one of the pros will also weight in.
