Single parent fatherless homes, violent video games and movies, lack of religious upbringing, over medicating children at to young an age, etc. in my opinion are all contributing factors. It is not just one thing that is causing these school shootings. There are multiple factors involved. The U.S. culture is a culture in decline. I went to a somewhat rural school. 69 students in my graduating class of 1981. There were guns in the gun racks of student pickup trucks in the parking lot every school day. There were some rough customers who got in trouble regularly. They had that tuff guy trouble maker reputation. Not one of them would ever have brought a gun to school with the intent of shooting the place up. There was the occasional fight. I was in a few myself. You got paddled hard and paddling was common even from the female teachers. I can assure you though a school shooting was impossible during my years attending public school. There were no students that mentally deranged or that broken.
