How many millions of pro-2A and Bill of Rights educational periodicals has GOA put into homes across the US?

How many millions of people have any of these other "gun advocacy" groups trained in firearms safety?

One of the reasons I gained very early literacy, vocabulary, and usage of the English language was because my grandpa would hand me his back issues of American Rifleman before I even started the train wreck known as grade school. I specifically remember reading many accounts of people who defended themselves with firearms, the history of gun control enacted on slaves, how gun control worked to empower tyrannical murderers in other countries and in history, court battles over our rights, as well as technical discussions about firearms and cartridges.

The NRA was able to communicate a different viewpoint than I was seeing on the big 3 presstitute brothel networks on TV, or hearing at school later on from post menopausal angry old ladies who seemed to hate little boys being boys in their precious rowed classrooms of submission.

The NRA empowered me with information and logical arguments that stood taller, and adhered to more stringent ethical and sensical foundations than the emotional knee-jerk garbage being excreted from the TVs and wolves in sheep's skin news anchors of my day. I remember the "Saturday Night Special" arguments back then, which was one of the big emotional call to actions for legislating against firearms ownership.



"We don't want to take away your hunting rifles and shotguns, but...."

Guess who stood in opposition to those calls to that type of legislation back then and informed millions of Americans like me about the truth behind these feel good proposals?

When we established safety standards in Boy Scouts of America for the Shooting Sports after National tried to eliminate Shooting Sports from BSA activities, it wasn't the GOA who made it happen, it was the NRA. When I went to National Camp School to get certified to be able to run programs for our summer camps and other shooting sports activities, it wasn't volunteers from GOA who taught the courses and provided the course material, standards, posters, and training aids. It was the NRA.

People need to stop being emotionally-triggered into really poor arguments in favor of fly-by-night opportunists, and take into account all of the facts.

There is no other organization that even comes close to the NRA's influence, education, and distribution of pro-2A causes.

My grandpa was a Democrat Union employee who worked for Douglas Aerospace. He was heavily influenced how to vote in State and local elections, as well as National matters by the union, but he was still a member of the NRA. Imagine how I might have turned out if I hadn't had that early influence of American Rifleman.
