We're dealing with the same BS here in New York. We have a governor that does whatever he wants, without impunity. Everyone connected to him has been indicted for some type of criminal activity. Even Preet Bhara, the Fed prosecutor before Pres Trump fired him, wouldn't go after Cuomo. His blatant attacks on the 2A have been upheld by his appointees in State courts as well as the 2nd Circuit.

Last election, he said upstate NY didn't matter because all he had to do was win the 5 NYC counties. We have residents of a 300 square mile area control the politics of the entire state. And if the Dems ever get the popular vote pushed through, they will control the entire country.

New York City and other metro areas of that State have been under the control of organized crime dating back to the 1800s as well.

The first firearms, knife, and club/personal protection laws were passed so that shopkeepers, citizens, and law-abiders couldn't protect themselves from armed racketeers and extortionists, especially when the new wave of immigrants moved in, threatening the turf of established gangs who have occupied city and State government before them.

They passed the unconstitutional laws, then issued permits to their henchmen so they could enjoy a competitive advantage over the new entrants to their market. The Sullivan Law of 1911 illustrates how corrupt that system was and still is, since it is the baseline for much of the firearms legislation around the Nation now in organized crime-controlled cities and States. The NRA/ILA has some interesting articles on this, including more recent assaults like the mandatory firearms registration scheme put in place in 1967.

When organized crime controls the press, they get to control the narrative and information that is disseminated to the masses. These dirtbags look at us as measly peasants to be ruled and chained on their terms. Information about their criminality threatens them to a degree, but since they own the judges, they know they can beat the long game in the rare chance that they are indicted.
