Just my two cents worth, I built an AR10 from AP upper and lower, BA bcg and 18" barrel.
I did buy an SLR gas block and JPSCS , have not had any problems with it.
No pierced primers, knock on wood.
As other people have stated before, it is a different animal.
In the end, it is a very heavy gun, nothing you are going to walk around with for sure.
