I get 2900fps from a 22" .260 Remington pushing 123gr.
Hodgdon's max load data for 123gr SMK is 2937fps from a 24" .260 Rem.
I know some guys that wildcatted the 458 SOCOM down to 6.5mm, did all kinds of things, ran into all kinds of problems. They got insane speeds, but something was wrong and it was scrapped last I had heard.
Remington missed the boat by making the .30 RAR .30 caliber. Should have been 270 RAR, 6.5 RAR, and .257 RAR, with an urge to get the industry to dust off the .257 projectiles.
