I tried posting pics but am unable to due to a sizing issue, or put another way, my incompetence. Sorry.
A few years back i bought a Ruger mini 30. Unfortunately itvhad serious accuracy issues. It bame a very expensive dust collector. Somewhere between then and now i heard about a place in Colorado called Accuracy Systems. They take a few select rifles and rework them so they wont be quite so useless.
After talking with them i chose to let them make a few changes on my mini. It went something like this:
The barrel was made by Accuracy Systems. It is an ultra match, 416 stainless steel, 20.125" x .850" with a 1:8 twist with a brushed finish. It has an 11* target crown.
The trigger is a two stage trigger with a 3.5 pull. It is very smooth.
When it was returned to me they sent a copy of the test target. Three shots in a .457 grouping using wolf gold 123 gr sp.
I topped the rifle off with a Nikon Monarch 3, 4-16×42 with mildot reticle.
Unfortunately the scope sits too far forward for me. I ordered a picatinny rail made specifically for the minis. Hopefully i will be able to set the scope back to where it is comfortable for me.
As it is i was able to get a 1.35 grouping using Hornady 123 gr sst bullets. I should be able to improve upon that if i can get the scope where i want it.
