When you look at the firearms crimes around the world where suppressors are readily available, like in Europe, there is zero data to support that claim.

Must be some pretty crappy suppressors. I used to work with a manufacturer of suppressors that were very quiet. When testing them, we never felt a need to wear hearing protection. Indeed, the whole purpose of suppressors is to make hearing protection unnecessary.
