I submit you've already answered this question; Since the last two generations of "average" schoolgirls and boys have been indoctrinated not to see reality, or stand up and do anything about it.
I fear there is change coming, and it may be time again for the tree of liberty to gain more fertilizer. My kids are 13,7,and 3, and I fear for them and for my grandchildren.
