I hear you however when talking "the Industry" where Mil Spec seems to be the Gold standard I always think of those B 52 $300.00 toilet seats, and many other flubs, that are accepted as such. The AR system being a prime example, or the 1911, of lose fitting parts designed into the process to insure 100 % reliability. It's the real reason I enjoy building my own which allows me to "fine tune" the parts to get the most out of this weapon.
