To 300 there is no practical difference in ordinate between any 7.62 NATO, 5.56 NATO, Grendel, .260 Remington, et. al.
Most of the tactical optics like the ACOG have low magnification and thick reticle patterns so to 500 yards some may show differences and others no differences.
Past 500 yards and you really need a 8 or 10X. If you get an 8 or 10X, you still won't see a difference to 300 but it is more likely you will see a difference at 500 and beyond. The issue is how much of a difference?
The very best reticle I have found for the Grendel that matches very well to 600 yards is the NSX 2 1/2 - 10 X 32 with the LOW velocity reticle. I zeroed it at 300 and used the 600 yard stadia and was very surprised and pleased to see the groups were within 1 MOA of center using a variety of loads. The barrel is 24" on that one. Bullets were all in the 120 - 123 grain range and were match grade. 30.5 grains of 2520, loaded to seat in the magazine while staying off the lands.
Just use the Low Velocity pattern, not the medium or high velocity. It ought to take the Grendel blaster to 600 which is about it for most practical uses anyway.
The ACOG is not worth the cost.
