One other point I don't think any one has mentioned yet is DI has a less harsh forces being subjected to your optics. Which may or may not be worth mentioning.. just something to think about. I love them equally for different reasons. I think I like the Ruger mini 14s design kinda a little bit of both maybe, maybe just piston but it keeps the chamber/receiver clean and will NEVER break or fail really. Definitely not a target rifle, but shoulda definitely been the choice to take to Nam. The folding stock AC-556.
