SLR Rifle works advices customers to start in the middle and work up or down. I will add that the best spot is where it locks back on last round. Either stop there or go one further to be sure. So load mags of one round at a time.

I agree with Speleocaves. Fully closed tends to stick the bolt in place and makes it difficult to open with no compound leverage of a charge handle.
