Sure, it looks as if an RPD could be Grendelized, which would give a "test bed" to evaluate some aspects of 6.5 LMG capabilities.

But if anybody wants to demonstrate that 6.5 Grendel is a viable LMG cartridge for US military use, it'll be necessary to convert a weapon that's fed by disintegrating links, such as the M249 or Mk46. And unfortunately, there is as yet no proof -- or even convincing evidence -- that such links can be developed for 6.5 Grendel.
