Those are all great ideas! I never thought about dropping one intentionally into the dirt to see how much drift I was getting. Several of the targets were in grass so that wouldn't have worked just anywhere but there were places with dirt available. File that one in the "mental tool box". The log book is a good idea as well. This experience was worth the time & money just so I know what to practice. You know, it is hard to want to go to the range for precision rifle practice when the wind is blowing 20+mph but it looks like I need to do just that.
