What about making one of the elastic spaces wider so it can fit a package of hemostatic gauze?

Like this? I will also add that any of the hemostatic agents need to be administered by someone with training. There is no replacement for direct pressure and fundamental wound management skills. I never had problems with cravats, Curlex, and Ace wrap on multiple GSW, traumatic amputations, and blast injuries with multiple perforations and penetrations, but that was before these types of products came out.

The first iterations of Quick Clot caused more harm in some cases, including to the person providing care, so make sure that if you are incorporating Quick Clot into your IFAK, it is the current 3rd Generation gauze, not the old versions. There are a few good trainers out there providing TCCC, so if you don't have medical training, I would look to them, preferably guys with 18D/SOCM/SFMS backgrounds.
