While stationed in GTMO I would eat Hutia or what the "locals" called Banana Rat. They look almost identical to a rock chuck and are quite tasty. We couldn't shoot them so we resorted to running them down with Humvees and hunting them with spear whenever we could get away with it. There was one guy on base whose job was "animal control" and he had an integrally suppressed Ruger 77/22 that was Hollywood quiet. I would volunteer for escort duty when he needed to go into restricted areas. We could easily shoot 30 in a few hours. Good times in GTMO.
