Something weird I've noticed is that all these 20" and longer bolt action Howa's are getting really slow velocities for that length.
I mean, 2460fps is what I get with 123gr AMAX from my 16" AA Grendel barrel, and I have tested it many times over the years with Hornady AMAX, SST, AA 123gr Scenar, and PF 123gr Scenar.
Some of those loads have even been in the low 2500fps region, factory, not my hand loads, which I keep at a consistent mid-2400fps speed.
Can you measure your lands and grooves at the muzzle?
