I am a big fan of accubonds and partitions for hogs. The biggest hog i shot was over 300lbs and dropped stone dead from one shot in the head from a glock 40S&W. I then shot one not that much smaller with a 308. shot it in the head and it went down got up and charged. I was 100 yards away. My buddy put 6 partitions from a 223 ar-15 in him before he went down. When you shoot a hog you just never know what is gonna happen, which is the exciting part!
Sometimes they take alot of lead, they usually only attack or charge you if shoot them, or if you are loading a feeder and have food. they dominate the deer hear in texas and take over the feeders. 1 female hog can have 3 litters of 15 piglets a year. their numbers grow exponentially. Most wild hogs are domestic pigs that got loose from the farm, if a pig gets loose in two weeks they start to grow tusks and hair, and if you capture a wild hog and put him in a pen in a few weeks he will start to loose his hair and tusks. Amazing animals, they are as smart as a 3 year old child, while a dog is about as smart as 1 year old, the pigs only weekness is its never ending appetite.
