What's your argument for restricting the availability of semi-auto "assault rifle" variants to law-abiding Americans --- like those in popular use by the majority of Members of this Forum?

Not my argument. The anti-gunners' argument: Such weapons are used in mass shootings like Orlando, San Bernardino, etc. That's a VERY substantial negative.

I don't see that being overcome by the "positive" of having such rifles for recreational shooting, and I haven't been able to think up a good counter-argument.
