I went with an adjustable, for function as well as having read the gas port is oversized.

Rather than gluing or blue Loctite consider using something specific to the application:

Loctite 609 Retaining Compound, General Purpose, Green Color (made to fill cylindrical spaces)
or
Loctite Green 620 High Temperature Retaining Compound

These are for loose tolerance press fit bearings and such.
