^ In my case, the answer is efficiency. I am limited to shooting 300yds, so I can't see burning 1,000yds worth of powder. Pluss the Grendel combines a very accurate case with one of the most ballistically proficient bullets available. I have a 260Rem, but it spends most of it's time in the safe lately. The 308Win came about because the 30/06 was more than needed for many applications, and the 308-1 1/2"Barnes evolved from the 308Win. The Grendle is plenty deadly on deer for my 300yd limitation. In 2013, the smallest group ever shot in competition at 100yds, was shot with a "30 Gerndel".
