On a limited budget I prefer to put the priority on a good barrel and a good 20 MOA mount and a scope which can be counted on to track correctly with good glass. If your going to shoot beyond 800 yards you really need to consider a 20 MOA mount otherwise your scope will likely run out of elevation adjustment.
I thought about going with a1 or a2 just to hold me over. Have you heard anything about the barrels radical uses in their gendel uppers? I've also considered the vltor mur upper with a brownells barrel, but that puts me around 470 w.out a hanguard. I'd also have to buy a torque wrench, upper clamp, and a breaker bar. So that's definitely the more expensive option
