Yes, I personally prefer single stage, and the Timney 3lb has one of the best single stage breaks on the market.
The biggest problem with the Timney is the hammer mass, which is way too big. The Pre-Ignition Vibration from that hammer makes shooting groups very difficult with the Timney, even from solid bagged positions.
If they went to a lower mass hammer that doesn't break, I'd be a customer.
