Biggest issue that is hard to deal with when carrying any method is when driving your vehicle, where you are more likely to have to resort to deadly force than in your home.

Gas stations are like watering holes for victims of car-jackings and muggings, especially in low income areas. Predatory opportunists realize that most people are unaware of their surroundings, are looking down or at the pump when handling their wallet, and they can gauge the fatness of the wallet often by the ride, contrasted against the age and overall presentation of the victim (weakness level).

Also, no matter what holster you are using, visually observe the holster as you carefully and slowly re-holster, ensuring no entanglements. This is something I drive home very hard every time I run a pistol course. I don't care if it's OTW kydex, because cordage, thumb breaks, and clothing can get caught in your trigger guard and discharge when you push the pistol into the holster. There are plenty of security cam videos of this, mostly of LEO's doing it to themselves.
A guy shot himself recently through the femoral artery with a .45, and died. They also found a round in his thorax, which makes no sense.
