Cerakote applied professionally will only add longevity for sure, and value to a firearm. You basically have an aesthetically-appealing, corrosion-proof, smooth, non-reflective finish that defeats acids, human oils, and other environmental factors that age metal and plastic. I just got a new air-gun set and mini compressor to save on over-spray, as well as do finer details when I do Cerakote finishes. I coated my AA stainless Grendel pipe first thing with FDE. I even like coating the gas tubes when installed. It will shed surface heat and not discolor like stainless in the white.
