Just my opinion, but I prefer scopes with capped turrets for hunting.
1. Tactical turrets stick out further and are more likely to catch on something.
2. Caps add another layer of protection against the elements and rocks.
3. Most likely, I will not have time to adjust elevation before I need to get a shot off, so I am not planning on needing to.
Just my two cents. My Nikon Monarch does have finger adjustable turrets with MOA markings, so I can dial elevation if I want to while target shooting.
