The original poster should call his local fish and game department and ask about mag size limit. Make sure that they quote you the section of the code that deals with the issue as you cannot trust that some of those people know the specific law. There is no limit in California and I use a standard 10 round magazine and just load 5 or 6 rounds but I could legally load more or use a larger magazine if I legally possessed it before the California AWB was pass into law (but that is another story). The 5 round mags by C products are the same as the 10 round (same body) but they have more coils in the spring so that the spring bottoms out faster. The 5 round magazine feels noticeably heavier than the 10 round magazine which is why I use the 10 rounders. Magazines also tend to be more reliable when they are not loaded to maximum capacity.
