not sure about the durability issues you speak of on the new XPS models. I've had no issues with mine, and I've used it on several rifles. You can find some great deals on them. I picked up a brand new XPS 2-2 (65 MOA ring with (2) 1moa dots) for just above $400......that's priced like an EoT 512 model!!!!
