20 Caliber Fun

This is an early developmental foray with heavy bullets in the 20 LBC in an AR. The barrel was bit picky but I tried these on a whim and was surprised. Velocity extapolated out of a load 0.5 grain lighter would give me about 3300. 20" barrel

The cases are a bit hard to make and incvolve neck turning. A fun little gun to play with but not so much you wantto do 500 of the little buggers.

I currnetly have new Savge 24" that I wil be wringing out beside another 20 'cat.

The 20 Grendel gets that kind of groups, and there is no neck turning needed! See 20 Grendel Discussion for a discussion.

I also ran the 60 gr Black Hole Hollow Point Rebated Boat Tail a couple of weeks ago and got similar accuracy. I will update that page when time permits.

I'm pretty sure that one can run the Manson reamer into the 20 LBC chamber and you will be able to avoid the neck-turning.

Yeah the first reamer was an experiment. A new no-turn neck version is in the works. It's running behind my oter work with type the 243LBC and another variant. My five 6.8. wildcats have been getting more play time lately.

Yes, again the difference is the no-turn neck.

FWIW Dave Manson made my reamer and can probably turn a 20 Grendel version around for you in reasonable time.

Thanks for the heads up. I never worry about reasonable times anymore unless it exceeds three months. I'm blessed to have a several industry friends that like to help me along. I've got plenty of stuff to keep me occupied..LOL
