I put my barrel and receiver together and dropped the bolt on an empty case.

Pulled the CH and the case ejected easy by hand.

I did the deburr,polish and bevel stuff to the bolt.

Don't think mine will have a problem.

We didn't supply them the extractors for their Maxim bolts.

I was not refering to you guys UTA, I have no idea who supplied the bolts to Satern before you guys came along. It was just an observation, I have no clue where the extractors came from but all I can tell is that the bolt is Maxums by the rings.

XCR pointed out a source but again, XCR got info to pass along so no alarms going off here or finger pointing........

My son pull a few boxes through his new 18in barrel at the range last weekend and had zero issues. In fact lots of smiles. Its Sooo much better for him than the old 24in he had on the rifle.

Your son was lugging the 24" around? Man I have one and its from the safe to the back yard. I wouldn't want to lug it to far. Yes, the 18" are super light in comparison.

Its fun to wantch people handle it and they have lots of skepticism when I tell them the range of the Grendel. People read up on it and are very interested after a week or two of reading. Then its all up to them to get one and enjoy....

XCR only thing better than an big bag of brass is a full box of loaded cartridges...thanks again for working out a deal for us! My rifle is together except for the flash hider which i plan to install tonight and an optic. My bolt and carrier cycle fine by hand....can't wait to shoot it! I hear there may be a good deal on vortex vipers this summer so I may use an old cheap optic on it till then.

pretty cool looking. I have never used a one piece mount...what do you think of them? I usually just mount rings straight to my flat top.

This thread was started about two weeks ago to provide a place for comments for Liberty barrel builders. Another thread is alive and well and focuses on some potential chamber issues. For readers of this thread who may have those issues, I am reposting a statement from Lindsey at Satern about the barrels:

Looks promising. I think I will put an on-hand NC Star scope on my 16 inch barrel until I decide on something better if I want to stretch it's legs. But for now, not looking beyond 200-300 yards as I have a PF Neptune V for longer range capability. The range I frequent only has 200 yards to play on. I have to drive a bit to go longer than 200.

Question: Why wouldn't Satern get complete bolts from Maxim or Underground Tactical. Seem kind of problematic to not have the bolts and components from the bolt manufacturer. sourcing from someone other than the bolt manufacturer introduces unnecessary problems

I am not so sure that they (the manufacturer's) make complete bolts. If not, then they have to order the components, and assemble them by themselves. Or maybe Satern likes their sources for the components and only need the bare bolt. What ever the case, it may be an evolving process as the bolt maker, outsources all the components and becomes a complete bolt supplier. Maybe then they consider if it is feasible, or not, to make all the components. I honestly am only speculating, but I do know that Satern is taking action with the Chambering issue. This just received fro Linsey at Satern:

I talked to my boss yesterday and she said we are currently working on an adaptation to work for the ammunition that is being used by you and other customers. Did they say anything about the bolt? Like yours mine is T.I.G.H.T - TIGHT. It will fit, and moves as it should, once installed, but getting it inserted into the carrier is a task.
