UTG PRO AR Rifle Length 13" Super Slim Free Float Handguard

Have any of you used the UTG Super Slim Free Float Hand guard. It is extreamly light which is what I'm looking for.

It's fairly new, so I haven't seen it yet. UTG was known for made in China parts, but this one says it's made in USA. The price is pretty hard to beat, but I would want to see how it mates up and whether it flexes or not.

I ordered one. I'll let you all know how it works. 12.5 oz for a rifle length aluminum forend is hard to beat.

I have a carbon fiber rifle length that is 5.6 oz.

The forend arrived last week and I painted and installed it last night. This is a very nice piece of equipment. Installation was very easy and there is no need to align the gas tube with a barrel net gas tube hole.

I like the paint job, was it a kit or stencils?

Nice paint job, looks as good as the water transfer camo kits. I think there's a Bigfoot in your garage:-)

I used branches from the cedar tree in our backyard for a stencil, an air brush and 4 different colors of duracoat. That could be Bidgfoot. I live in the Pacific Northwest.

How long did you have to wait between layers of duracoat?

I only wait a few minutes between coats. As long as you lay the masking or pattern on the rifle and don't adhere it, the paint is dry enough to move rom step to step in a couple of minutes.

Did you get the duracoat in the spray bottles?

What were the colors you used and in what order?

I sprayed the Duracoat with an air brush. My wife bought me one for Christmas last year however Duracoat sells an inexpensive model for less than 30 dollars that works well. If you already have a compressor you have most of the expensive costs covered.

I sprayed the colors in the following order: Tactical Desert Warrior (Base Coat), Tactical Dark Earth, Tactical Woodland Green, Tactical Black and a final overspray of Tactical Desert Warrior. I masked with a Cedar bough with each successive coat.

I am not really trying to toot my own horn (even though sort of am), but I did a camo job on my muzzleloader. That may doesn't require the skill or patients that seatleroadwr has.
I sprayed a base layer of KG Gun Kote FDE first. Then I sprayed MS OD Green through some foam shelf liner.
