Man it looks like its working pretty darn good to me. Very minimal movement. Looks good to boot. When i get my barrel comes in, when being the keyword im going to have to contact you and get hooked up with this. Looks like a great product.

How's the dust kickup when prone?

If it is not mechanically disturbed (talc like) it is not bad at all. If you are in a pit that has been excavated or where a shamal has deposited pink moon dust it is not so good, mind you an A2 is awful in these environments as well.

How do you rate this brake compared to an A2 regarding effects to those to the left and right of you and hearing impairment/disorientation? For example, you're on the line with your buds where the side blast range includes people's ears left and right within a few feet. Also, in close quarters situations in the house?

Whenever I'm near someone with a gilled muzzle break with large side ports, I suffer additional hearing damage unless I'm doubled with muffs and plugs, and it's still unpleasant. When I run courses, I specifically dictate that attendees should NOT bring gilled muzzle breaks. Sure enough, 2 guys brought Miculeks to the last one, and I was nauseous by the end of each day, and one of my safeties ended up with a migraine.

I love the muzzle control and recoil characteristics with breaks, but not the unwanted blast effects for shooting and moving as a team. How does this break fair, given these issues that are common with other muzzle breaks?

Gilled brakes are really obnoxious, I would rate the WCI as being below halfway between the gill and an A2.

The reason is that the WCI uses longitudinal intersecting holes in conjunction with radial holes to effectively dissipate most of the pressure wave.

It is also why it has a reduced flash signature.

While speaking on hearing loss, I won't even suggest that anyone shoot without hearing protection even with a plain bbl (no muzzle device)

Just because you do not feel a pressure wave does not mean it did not do damage.

While shooting the WCI on the line I get no complaints from the sides, when shooting my .270win (no brake) people tend to flinch some.

The pressure wave does not travel very far as in a brake with large ports, because the gas flow was interrupted after the bullet passes.

In CQC yeah, it is loud, but so are many of the other weapons.

A short bbl shotgun or a SBR will be extremely loud, I hated using a 7.5" bbl indoors even with ear pro and an A2.

Of course running the pig (m60) indoors has to be experienced to be appreciated for causing nausea.

IIRC many have stated that they have not had a problem with annoying others in close proximity at the range, maybe a few of them will give their opinion.

Noone has complained when I have shot next to them at the range. A couple have even commented it's not very loud for a brake.
