Anyone have any info on the current wait times for uppers? I ordered an entry upper in early Jan 2013.
Maybe members could post ordered and received date, along with the model they ordered.
We were getting info from bwaites on another thread, but I haven't heard anything recently.
Maybe AA could provide info on long wait time parts, and let us swap for a part that is easier to get.
Order my upper 1 December 2012 and I'm still waiting ... patiently ...
Ordered 20" Entry complete upper Nov.7th 2012 and received March 28th 2013. Hang in there!

Can't speak for an upper....but I ordered a bolt on December 28th....124 days and still waiting.
Ordered a 24" lite barrel and billet upper on July 3rd and I still don't have it.....
I ordered a complete rifle in 18" lightweight late December. Got it 3 weeks ago.

Ouch Nemo....that's just wrong as acid rain. Someone at AA would have to explain that to me ....well...if they would actually answer the phone...which in my experience.....they will not.....or return my call.....or even reply to my emails.

I am thinking about calling AA and having them change my order to the 18"lightweight, from the 20" entry. I may get it sooner. As long as I get something before hunting season, I will be happy. I imagine some barrels are harder to get than others, or there could be more demand for a certain barrel.
I want to punch paper with it, shoot out to 600yds some, and hunt deer. Would the 20" entry give me any advantage? Any thoughts?

I ordered a lower right before Christmas and a 20"entry upper on Christmas Day. I have not heard a peep about either one. I have missed several opportunities for uppers locally in the past 19 weeks cause I am waiting on my order. I have bought a couple lowers since then and my LGS has about 25 lowers in stock now. I knew when I ordered it was going to take awhile, I was told 8 to 12 weeks, but I would figure that AA should send out an email once in awhile or post on the website. " we are now on orders 5500-5600" or something to that nature. I hardly ever post on forums, I just read and learn, cause I don't like a lot of squabbling, Bwaites has posted that some of AAs 16" tactical 6.5s, 300 and 55.6 stuff was coming faster than " the hard to get 6.5 stuff" Not sure about that, I frequent many sites and it's hard to find anybody getting AA stuff in a timely manner. I'm still waiting and my hope is around June. Please keep posting here to give us waiters some hope!
I actually called today and was told a couple more months because they didn't have barrels. I think this is the third different thing AA has told me about why I do not have what I ordered. Not very happy with their customer service but what can you do. I am also worried I will not have a rifle for hunting season.

The demand for barrels and parts far exceeds the capacity of the manufacturers. There is nothing AA can do about this and they aren't the only company that is affected. At the last gun show I talked to other companies who builds rifles and some of their wait times are over a year.

Nemo, I had to put up my AA 24" upper up for sale. It is on gun broker and I am only asking what I paid for it from Midwayusa. I also have a nice scope and ammo on the site.
Two weeks ago I entered the Alexander Arms Order list. I was Quoted 24 weeks by the lady on phone. Meantime I snagged 100 rounds Hornady brass. Still can't lay my hands on Hornady dies.

I agree, I've got two orders in with AA, both at around the 24 week mark. One for an upper and one for a stripped lower. My LGS has 178 lowers in stock I've picked up some lowers but 6 mts is a long wait for anything. I would not take orders that couldn't fill in a timely manner. I'd at less keep the website up to date with wait times and such. I watch several forums, trying to figure out how much longer I got to wait, it's still a guess!

Exactly! All AA needs to do is overstate the order lead time on their website and the complaints/calls/emails would significantly decrease, allowing AA to fill more orders (I have had to wait long periods of time despite the product being in stock because they hadn't got to my invoice # yet....was told this on two seperate occasions). If there is 6-months of backlog based on recent order fill rates, then state the lead time is 9-months to be overly cautious. More informed customers can only lead to better relations. Why they can't do this simple task remains a mystery......saves everyone involved a headache.
Called monday my end of nov ordered grendel is 2-4 weeks away incase people are wondering

That's what they said to make you happy and get you off there back, believe it when you get it and let us know. YES they are waiting on parts and have lost a lot of orders but are doing what they can with what they receive. It is an easy math equation though, lead times of inventory and amount of orders is a known and they should be able to give more accurate lead times. If someone ordered back in November, before the scare then that means everything after the scare must be years out.
Also due to them being so sketchy I have got a Grendel built that I am keeping and 3 Beowulf's, 1 for me and a couple for my bud's.. If you place an order and are waiting, keep looking. The parts are out there.

Ya and for there lowers, I ordered 1 back around 12/12/12 and still don't have it. Ive bought 5 since then from Stag to Sun Devil and many others available like Mega, Seekins which are avalible today. They are not that special of a company.
