Cornyn's amendment on concealed-carry reciprocity failed, but with a vote of 57-43. That's an awful lot of votes for the idea to expand gun rights. Newsman Chuck Todd points out that more Senators voted to vastly expand gun rights than for the tepid Toomey/Manchin gun control law. Wow.

Burnt tato head was just doing -what he thought was right.. to at least bring these items to a Vote. let it slide we should be good -for a while at least. The country knows the real issues are the -challenged units in our F-ed up society. Interesting that there was more support for increased firearms ownership, and 60 votes against Diane Feinswine's "high velocity assault capacity clips". She's painfully stupid when she opens her mouth-I almost feel sorry for her, but then I'm reminded of her steering billions in government contracts to her husband's defense contract companies, gaining her top 10 most corrupt politician status by Judicial Watch.

It sort of looks that way, but no. Its just a bit confusing because of the cloture requirement. All the votes REQUIRED 60 VOTES to PASS.

All the votes I have listed show the number of votes in favor in the first column, the number opposed in the second column.

So if you go back and look, some of the amendments were pro-gun amendments, they lost with a 57 or 58 to 40-something margin. The Feinstein bill lost with 40 votes FOR and 60 votes AGAINST.

Somebody mentioned to me today that if the Senate Majority leader votes against the bill then it can be brought back up. Since Reid voted against the basic background portion of the bill I'm wondering if it can be brought back up.

Anyway, though the Pro 2A people were really worried about the UBC's because it would become a defacto registry as FFL's retire or quit, the ATF collects their records. I personally was much more worried about this than an "AWB" because those can be reversed whereas a registry and UBC's can't. The govt never gives up power or information once they have it.

So Reid mocks the pro 2A crowd with his "imaginary tyrrany" comment but yet he voted against the bill that most pr 2A's were most concerned about. What a douche-bag.

It's disgusting for him to parade these families out like this for political purposes, but if I were in Congress, I would arrange for Brian Terry's & Jaime Zapata's families, along the countless families in Mexico who have had their loved ones gunned-down with Obama/Holder Fast & Furious weapons at the Capitol steps for a major news conference demanding answers as to why Eric Holder (terrorist assaulter who stormed an ROTC HQ building on College campus in the 1970's, mastermind of the Clinton pardoning scandals, Waco scandal henchman, Chiquita Banana narco-terrorist/torture-murder cocaine-trafficking scandal lawyer) has claimed executive privilege over White House communications with the DOJ regarding weapons trafficking to the Narco-Cartels in Mexico.
