Upper build

So I put a price list together of parts for my upper and am coming up with about $400 without the barrel and bolt. Seem right?

Considering a Krieger will set me back about $500 and a bolt another $75 or so...

Wondering why not just buy an upper from Alex arms for about $800

Just not sure about their barrels and really would prefer a different standard barrel threading.

Thoughts?

I got my Barrel and bolt combo from MidwayUSA for 330, my bolt carrier for 76 bucks from a guy named Frank. I got my upper from JD tech for 120. But don't forget all the little stuff that adds up like charging handle, bolt pieces, gas block, gas tube, muzzle flash etc. Plus shipping for each piece and it starts to cost more than you think.
