Ordinary Handguns used in Conn School Shooting ~ why the focus on a RIFLE ban?

Lets face it, 99% of the rifles using our beloved little 6.5 Grendel round are AR15s and these are the exact rifles that the gun banners want to ban. They are using the school tragedy in Connecticut to justify banning rifles, under the guise of an "assault weapons ban" but it was handguns that were used in the mass shooting.

Only handguns were used to kill those innocent children.

That report aired on 15 December. I saw a live update where the coroner stated all murders were accomplished with multiple rifle shots; and the only gunshot death was the self-inflicted shot.

I had seen one report were the shootings were made with a Sig Sauer rifle...initially reported as a handgun. Additionally, that report also said the Bushmaster was left in the car.

We haven't heard much on the facts of the crime scene since the immediate reporting (most of which was inaccurate).

It will be interesting to actually have all the FACTS at hand, and see how it plays to the gun control debate...

Whatever the fact of the make...it seems clear at least the 7 autopsied by this guy were all killed with multiple rifle shots, and other reports say all but the shooter were killed with a long gun.

I suspect whatever the facts are will have little to do folks perceptions on an emotional issue like this. Whatever their previous narrative was is pretty much what they are coming out of it with sadly.

why listen to the news anymore these days? they can't get it right no matter what....and who here has heard about the shooting last week at a diner/theater where an off duty cop smoked the bastard with her coneal gun...!!!!!!!! not many i bet...they dont want us to think guns can fix anything

Facts have nothing to do in gun control because if they did, gun control wouldn't be an issue because it doesn't work.

whatever new "law" our govt. "saves" us with will be a done "deal" before any "facts" of the shooting are shone. Police,and coroner work for the govt.,they have familys and need there jobs . WE WILL NEVER KNOW THE FACTS.

Answer: because no opportunity wil be bypassed by dishonest people to forward an agenda.
