Ive noticed that nobodys brought this up here and maybe Politics is taboo as well but am I the only one here that feels personally insulted by this little weasel and pompous Prick from England (Bob Costas & Piers Morgan) preaching on the evils of we EVIL GUN OWNERS? Im just a litle tired of being the whipping boy for the Dems and their news media as they wage open war on our rights. I guess Alcohol and pills and arrogance brought on by the NFL had nothing to do with it. What if he had stabbed her wth a pencil six times instead of shooting her six times with a gun. Would they then be calling for the outlawing of pencils.
Just in case nobodys aware of what im talking about Jovan Belcher from Kansas City shot and killed his wife, apparently the guy had some dependency problems and probable concussions and went crazy and killed her after spening previous night with some other woman. Bob Costas during a televised football gme at the half time show decided to go on an all out call for gun control followed later by the NFL making the same demand.
No one mentioned drugs, alcohol or the other women. NOPE! It was the guns fault!

I agree with you totally, I was bitching at work today about this but none of my fellow gun buddies seen it. Bob was being bashed good on the local news here in oklahoma, I wish he would be fired or there was something we could do to that idiot. I'm so sick of these idiots. I'm sorry he killed the woman but not that he killed himself one less overpaid idiot. Besides even If guns were banned he had so much money he would of had a illegal gun anyway.
I guess if he just had a knife he could of just killed her and not himself, and then we could of used our tax dollars to keep him fed and imprisoned for the rest of his life.
i look at it like this. Give a sane man a gun. He can hunt, go to the range, and defend his family from intruders trying to get into there home. Give a gun to an insane man and yes he can do the same. But he can also blow away some child and his mother. Or kill his own child or wife, or blow away a nun or a priest. Give a sane man a car. He can use it as transportation from point A to B. Use it from home to work. Go on a family trip etc. Give an insane man a car and he can do all those things. But he can also see some lady pushing a baby stroller and decide to run over them. Or kids crossing a crosswalk at a school. Would we then outlaw automobiles? I think not. Any thing can be used to kill. Blaming a gun and wanting to take them away would be no different than taking away an automobile.

Maybe they should just ban gun ownership of guns by professional athletes Bob. You know the ones like you who have lost all grip on reality and think they are above us. Keith I know i used the example of a pencil and its very true as are both of yalls examples. At 6'2" armed with a spoon 90% of people couldnt stop me if I was hell bent on hurting someone. Unless of course they put a double tap through my chest which is the way it should be. As a matter of fact I only wish there had been one more gun involved. Yes thats right maybe this woman would be alive if she had been carrying a handgun. Was it tragic? Yes. Was it the fault of the millions of law abiding American citizens? No!

 My thoughts are that he of course has the right to say whatever he wants, and nbc must be OK with what he said. But I also have my rights, so I will not purchase any products from any company that advertises on nbc, as long as nbc supports this kind of thing. Possibly if enough people refused to purchase products from the companies that pay to advertise on nbc this would hit them where it really hurts.

Stuff like this has always been around but it becoming more common place. Much of it goes unchallenged which is why it perpetuates. Imagine if just 5% of pro Second Amendment gun owners called, emailed, wrote, etc. any time a media outlet pulled a stunt like this. We wouldn't be ignored and marginalized as we are today. Encourage your like minded and reasonable family and friends to take a minute for call or write every time something like this comes up. As Tom Gresham says- "A lie left unchallenged becomes the truth".

I agree 100%. I played 8 years of football in my younger days p-wee and high school, but I am done watching pro ball. My favorite team endorsed gun bans,monday night football fired Hank Williams junior for his conservative remarks and now this Bob Costas propaganda. The NFL doesn't need my money and they won't get it.

Either way he did shoot her 9 times with that much rage he would have killed her one way or another. I suppose Costas would have felt better if he beat her to death slowly.

Keep it civil, like bwaites said. No need to draw more angst from the anti's. Send it - Straightforward , and have some facts! Then let it go for now..relax. Sad story-sad end result for a future? awesome player, and his partner, and child. Sounds like a many -side issues w/ him-the gun was not the problem here.
Anyone know the email address of ABC sports? Might be a good idea to e-mail bomb them telling them how disgusted we are with the comments. THey forget that rednecks with guns watch football.
