Soon to be retired and will now have rime to enjoy shooting again and the lake close by. Recent health issues have fprced me to lower the recoil levels of toys that go bang, so I've added an Howa mini and in the process of building a pair of ARs to increase the grendel collection. Joined to learn more about the cartridge and explore the boundries of what it can do. Lived in cattle country of the Flint hills of Kansas for quite awhile and plan on dear hunting again along with vmint controll including my favorite bullet test medium, the armadillo(which is hated more than a politician). Still like to waterfowl hunt when the the weather isn't below zero outside. Inhearented the daughter back along with a 11lb 8oz grandson 3 years ago and can enjoy him and teach him what a man should be.

Congratulations and welcome!
So, we have jackrabbits that eat alfalfa and anything else out cattle like andhogs that eat everything and tear up the land trying to find more food.
What does the armadillo do to earn thst hate?

Welcome to the forum Papa Smurff! One suggestion is using a 20 MOA mount. Unless your at higher elevation many scopes run out of elevation around 800 yards with the 6.5 Grendel. I havent found any down side to using a canted scope mount on my 6.5 Grendel AR-15s and my Cz 527 American in 6.5 Grendel. I use 0 cant scope mounts on my low power variable optics (1-6).
I like shooting steel at longer distances and using a canted mount keeps me from maxing out my scopes elevation.

Welcome to the clan, PS, from the great nation of Texas! Retirement is a great thing, working on my third one. The recoil thing is a very real problem but you'll find that the Grendel is an ideal elixer for that malody. Keep us posted.

They dig holes under the "prarrie pies" that the livestock can step in and hurt themselves, some times bad enought to be terminated. Loosing $10,000 to 12,000 a year of production really hurts the bottom line. They soak up lead like a sponge, I've shot them with 44 mag 5 or 6 times and still had them run off dragging parts.

Thanks -- those pie holes are probably rough on horses too.
