Until your post, I'd never seen this device. What some mini Howa users were doing was shortening the release lever about half its length or shorter to keep those accidental mag drops at a minimum. Others were replacing the lever with one from DIP inc: https://www.diproductsinc.com/Detail.asp...&CAT=12462 The DIP lever is on a horizontal plane instead of vertical. I had one on mine until I replaced the trigger-guard with the one from Jefferson Outdoors: https://jeffersonoutdoor.com/howa-mini-h...loorplate/ (out of stock right now but more are being manufactured. Thanks for the reply. Yes I have cut my lever down already. Still was able to accidentally drop the mag one day in the woods. Was looking for a more inexpensive option than the above...Joe
